Performs patient EKG‘s, Holter and Monitoring set up. Assists Respiratory Therapist with patient care as needed. Maintains and is responsible for the EKG Reading System performance, staff education, maintenance, troubleshooting and documentation. Educates physicians on computerized interpretation documentation, medical staff education, stocking, distribution and documentation. Is frontline contact for Cardiopulmonary office in person and phone. Interacts with patients, physicians and staff to coordinate and schedule all Cardiopulmonary Outpatient procedures such as EKG‘s, PFT‘s, Stress Tests, Sleep Studies, EEG‘s, Pulmonary and Cardiac Rehab, Holter Monitoring. Prepares patient chart and education materials for all procedures. Educates patients and families of the procedure particulars. Maintains Performance Improvement documentation for EKGs, PFTs, Stress Testing, Sleep studies, EEG’s and Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehab. Responsible for final patient document organization. Charges and reconciles all department charges. Other clerical duties of the department.
Estimated pay range for this position is $15 – $21 / hour depending on experience.
Qualifications Degrees: High School,Cert,GED,Trn,Exper Licenses & Certifications: Basic Life Support Additional Qualifications: Will be required to demonstrate competency in EKG rhythm identification by exam within 60 days of start date. Typing, computer skills, including filing, faxing, scanning, coping, mailing and email encryption). Ability to deal with the public and others in a professional manner. Medical Terminology. Experience as Medical Receptionist desired. EKG and holter monitor trained preferred. Proficient using BHS Applications including: Sovera, Netaccess, Pyramis-maintains Performance Improvement monitors for EKGs, Sleep studies, EEG and PFTs logs for the dept Willingness and ability to take care of patients. Fluent in English required, bilingual (Spanish) preferred. Minimum Required Experience: Less than 1
