Who are we? We are looking for someone passionate about the culinary arts to join our Culinary team. This individual must be creative, motivated, and passionate about growing their talents in the kitchen!

Successful candidates for this role will have previous experience working in a professional kitchen environment, with a strong desire to learn, to develop skills and work with the culinary leadership team to create menus which reflect seasonal availability and concept of the restaurant.

The Cook assists the Chef in production and fabrication of food products for kitchen preparation, cafeteria, banquet cooking, dining room, and fine dining. The Cook will maintain a passive leadership role in maintaining adequate production level form the Kitchen staff.

What you will have an opportunity to do:

RESPONSIBILTIES:

  • Knowledge of variations of cooking procedures and methods(grill, sauté and fry)
  • Experience in using knives and kitchen equipment
  • Ability to read and recreate recipes
  • Consistency on all food preparation
  • Minimize food waste
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Food handlers certification
  • Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment
  • Prepare ingredients to use in cooking(chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat)
  • Keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen
  • Ensure all food and other items are stored properly
  • Check quality of ingredients
  • Other duties as needed from supervisor

QUALIFACATIONS:

Minimum three years experience as a cook in a high volume al a carte restaurant. Basic allergy knowledge is a must, High school diploma or equivalent, Diploma from a culinary school will be an advantage. Must have full knowledge of correct cooking temperatures of all vegetables and proteins, must be able to provide cutting tools needed to perform job as well as a calibrated food grade thermometer. Must have finger hand dexterity in order to operate food machinery without reasonable accommodations. Must have the ability to communicate in English

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Applicants should be in good physical condition and able to lift up to 100 pounds without difficulty. Applicants must also be capable of working under pressure in areas of high temperature and able to stand for several hours at a time. All food-service personnel will be expected to maintain high standards of cleanliness and sanitation; to keep their nails trimmed and clean, hair short.
