- Other Majors: For other degree majors, passing the FTCE Subject Area Exam in Spanish K&ndash12 is required. The exam is 75 multiple-choice questions, 1 essay, and 5 speaking assignments. If at first you don't succeed, you may retest every 30 days. The exam costs $150, unless you have an approved Military Vet or Spouse Certification Fee Waiver or Retired First Responder Fee Waiver.
