- Middle Grades Science Major: Commonly accepted bachelor's (or higher degree) majors for a Florida temporary educator certificate include:Middle Grades Science, Teaching Middle School Science, Junior High Science, Middle School Science Education, General Science.
- Other Majors: For other degree majors, pass the subject area exam in Middle Grades General Science 5&ndash9. This 2.5-hour computer-based test is 80 multiple choice questions. Locate a test center. Study materials are available for purchase with The Learning Liaisons and 240 Tutoring. Free sample questions are available here. If at first you don't succeed, you may retest every 30 days. The exam costs $150, unless you have an approved Military Vet or Spouse Certification Fee Waiver or Retired First Responder Fee Waiver. Scores are automatically reported to the FLDOE.
