    Requirements: Eligibility for Florida certification in Social Science (grades 6-12) or Social Science (grades 5-9) is a prerequisite for teaching in field.

    1. Out-of-State Certification: If you hold an unexpired, out-of-state, professional educator certificate in this subject area, please apply for Florida reciprocity.
    2. Social Science Major: Commonly accepted bachelor&#39s (or higher degree) majors for a Florida temporary educator certificate include:Social Science, Social Studies, American History, History, Western Civilization, World History, Geography, Economic Geography (and other specialized areas of geography), Economics, Civics, Government, International Relations, Political Science, Sociology, Psychology, Educational Psychology (and other specialized areas of Psychology), Philosophy.
