Needs to be familiar with pool safety procedures Pool chemical knowledge base Needs knowledge of how to solve guest problems and/or who to contact for resolution. Needs knowledge of how to solve employee problems and to coach and counsel employees as needed to improve work performance and to praise employees for doing a good job. Professionalism and courtesy are to be extended at all times to guests, associates, and vendors. RD should take the initiative to offer assistance and answer questions throughout the resort. RD should remain highly visible and be readily available to guests and employees at all times. RD should demonstrate self-confidence, energy, and enthusiasm. RD is responsible for his/her continuous training/personal development, especially relating to professional hospitality, technical skills and proactive approaches to solve guest and employee concerns. RD is responsible for the training of all Recreational employees and to ensure that they follow the Resorts policies and procedures. RD should take responsibility to formally and informally learn about other departments within the resort. RD is encouraged to offer improvement ideas and plan ahead for future projects. RD is responsible for developing goals for Recreation that will improve productivity, assure quality in hospitality and recreational standards. RD needs to create, implement, and ensure activities for guest of all ages are of high quality in all of the Resorts programs. Lead the team to ensure that Recreation achieves or exceeds guests needs. Ensure that the Recreation Department maintains the pool areas to standard. Ensure that pool towels are in excellent condition and inventories are adequate. Ensure that all recreational equipment is in excellent condition and meet safety requirements. Prepare and manage the Recreational budget. Inventory and ensure that all supplies and equipment needed for operations are available.

The RD will be responsible for communication of results/information/company values to the employees and to immediate supervisor. Motivate and provide a work environment, which foster productive teamwork and encourages employees to become more involved in guest relations. The RD will be responsible for employee re-training and development. The RD will give 90 day and annual employee evaluations. The RD will be work with the Sales and Marketing Departments in planning effective special events, holiday and group team Olympic events. The RD will be responsible for full office operations including but not limited to staffing, ordering, budgeting, counseling, Scheduling.

28. The RD is required to wear the proper uniform and name tag.

Reports to the Resort Manager and to the General Manager in his or her absence.

QUALIFICATIONS:

2 year or 4 year degree in Recreation/related field. A Recreation Internship recommended but not required. 5 or more years of hand on experience as a Recreation Director. Applicants should have good communication and organizational skills; be tactful and have a good rapport with people; and have a genuine concern for our guests well-being.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Applicants should be in excellent physical condition and capable of moving around constantly. Individuals should be capable of lifting up to 50 pounds without difficulty.
